The Exotic cat better known as the short haired Persian or the lazy mans’ Persian first appeared in the 1950s’ early 1960’s. The Exotic cat was breed from long haired cats to short haired cats thus the breed began. Today the only outcross acceptable (the only other breed) that can be mated with the Exotic is the Persian.
